Meet The Team

Robert Ballo
Robert is an active, passionate and creative hands-on filmmaker, having produced over 50 feature films since 2004 all having received domestic and world-wide distribution. At USC’s School of Cinematic Arts (also his alma mater) he was a member of the professional faculty as an Associate Professor of Practice teaching for 20 years. With an eye for great images, he was a member of International Cinematographers Guild as a Director of Photography for 10 years. Currently, he is a voting member (Emmy’s) of the Academy of Television Arts and Science.

Doerte Lindner
Doerte provides fiscal support, reporting, and control. She gives Shadowboxer valuable insights in our big-picture projects and day-to-day operations.
Doerte is also an Olympian! She was an Olympic Athlete at the 2000 Summer Games in Sydney, Australia, where she won the bronze medal for diving in the 3-meter springboard event.
Doerte enjoys spending time with her family, working in the garden and being active hiking, riding her bike or doing yoga.

Nima Azadi
Originally from Long Beach, California, Nima Azadi is a seasoned filmmaker involved in over 45 feature films and episodic series, working as a Producer, Production Manager, and Post Production Supervisor. His projects for major streaming platforms and networks like Netflix, Peacock, Hallmark, Disney, A&E, and Discovery showcase his comprehensive skill set and commitment to excellence. Traveling across various states, Nima has honed his craft across all budgetary scales, earning recognition as a distinguished member of the Producers Guild of America. His work exemplifies a deep engagement in every stage of filmmaking, reflecting his versatile expertise and dedication.

Joshua Butler
Joshua Butler is an award-winning independent filmmaker and one of the most prolific writers and directors of his generation, with over 60 hours of content to his name. Joshua wrote and directed the cult horror feature VLOG for the producers of SAW; directed multiple episodes of Syfy’s THE MAGICIANS, FOX’s THE FOLLOWING starring Kevin Bacon, the CW phenomenon THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, Disney/Freeform’s PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, CBS’ LIMITLESS produced by Bradley Cooper; El Rey’s MATADOR for Robert Rodriguez; BET’s TALES; and STATE OF AFFAIRS for NBC starring Katherine Heigl and Alfre Woodard. In addition to his directing work, Joshua has edited 8 network pilots—all of which were picked up to series—and dozens of hours of episodic television, many of which he directed. He is also an active editor of features, commercials, promos, trailers and all manner of streaming content. Most recently, he created, written and directed the Tubi horror series RED ROOMS, which premiered in 2023.

Doug Campbell
Doug Campbell is known for his work in thrillers and dramas. Currently, Doug is in post-production on the TUBI feature, “Deadly Cheer Mom,” which he directed and co-wrote. Doug has directed over 44 feature films for television, which are still airing on a rotating basis.
Doug grew up in the San Fernando Valley north of Los Angeles, making his first Super-8 when he was 14. After studying under Sandy Mackendrick at Cal Arts, Doug wrote and directed his first feature at age 24. Of all the features Doug has directed, over 30 of which he wrote or co-wrote. An actor’s director, Doug runs a well-organized, fun, fast-paced set, and his films are consistently on-time and on-budget.

Emily Dell
Emily Dell is an award-winning Writer/Director in film and commercials, she directed thriller HOW I MET YOUR MURDERER for Lifetime (Premiere May 2021) and created/directed the series TROUBLED YOUTH for digital network CryptTV, which received over 14 million views.
As a writer, Dell’s action script TIGER MOTHER was acquired by Amazon Studios, to be produced by Di Novi Entertainment (CRAZY, STUPID LOVE; RAY DONOVAN) and graphic novel VERONA for Emet Comics is available wherever comic books are sold.
A graduate of UC Berkeley with degrees in Neurobiology and International Literature, Dell’s achievements include the ability to eat M&M’s with chopsticks, officiating the wedding of her two best friends, and that time she sold a dirty poem for a bottle of 18-year-old Scotch.

Jack Perez
Jack Perez has directed over a dozen feature films, including indie hits SOME GUY WHO KILLS PEOPLE (Exec Produced by John Landis), LA CUCARACHA (Winner Best Feature Austin Film Festival), and THE BIG EMPTY (Winner AFI Film Fest Best New Writer). He virtually invented the “found-footage” genre with his groundbreaking first feature, AMERICA’S DEADLIEST HOME VIDEO, and wrote & directed the pop-culture classic, MEGA-SHARK VS. GIANT OCTOPUS.
His television directing credits include the pilot for XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS, Fox’s UNAUTHORIZED: BRADY BUNCH, THE FINAL DAYS and SyFy’s BLAST VEGAS! and DRONE WARS. Perez wrote & directed the hit web series, FEAR FORCE FIVE (over 80 million views), and the acclaimed director-on-director interview series, HOLLYWOOD TRENCHES.
